Getting Help for GBV and Safety Concerns

5 min read · Offline-ready

Know when to seek support, what information may help and how referral pathways can protect users.

Gender-based violence and safety concerns require care, privacy and appropriate support. A person who feels unsafe should seek help through trusted services, emergency contacts or referral pathways available in their area. The Youth Choice app can help users find nearby support points and submit barrier reports where services are not accessible, unavailable or not respectful. Sensitive reports should be handled with strict privacy, limited access and clear escalation rules.

Questions

Should I include my name in a report?

The reporting feature can allow anonymous reports. Contact details should be optional unless follow-up is needed and the user agrees.

Who sees sensitive reports?

Only authorised users should access sensitive reports, with role-based controls and audit trails.
